Maldon District Council
Latchingdon Inquiry

DAC Planning was commissioned by Maldon District Council to act as expert witness on planning matters at a public inquiry for proposals for residential development outside of the settlement boundary in Latchingdon.

Scope

DAC Planning acted on behalf of Maldon District Council as expert witness on planning matters at a public inquiry for proposals for residential development on a greenfield site outside of the settlement boundary in Latchingdon.

The planning application proposed the delivery of up to 160 homes, of which 50% would be affordable. Latchingdon is a village with a population of around 1,400 residents.

DAC Planning worked closely with Council officers, Councillors and Counsel to build a robust and defensible case for the appeal, drawing on the contradictions between the proposal with local planning policy and the spatial strategy.
